Hi, I'm Barb.
I'm the woman behind As She Becomes — and, truthfully, I'm also one of the women it was created for.
I'm figuring things out as I go. I'm learning how to make space for myself in the middle of work, family, responsibilities, relationships, and all the little things that make up a life. I've spent a lot of time thinking about how easy it is for women to keep moving without ever really stopping to ask, How am I doing? What do I need? Who am I becoming?
As She Becomes grew out of that question.
I created As She Becomes because I believe becoming doesn't have to be something we do alone. There is so much pressure to have ourselves figured out — to be productive, confident, balanced, successful, and somehow still have enough left over to take care of everyone else.
But real growth rarely looks like that.
Sometimes becoming looks like slowing down. Sometimes it looks like changing your mind. Sometimes it looks like admitting that something isn't working anymore, or discovering that something you once wanted isn't what you want now. I wanted to create a space that made room for all of that. A space where women could pause. Reflect. Connect. And remember that they don't have to have everything figured out before they begin.
And that's where The Monthly Bloom comes in.
The Monthly Bloom is a small monthly invitation to step outside the rush of everyday life and come back to yourself. Each Bloom brings together thoughtful pieces designed to be experienced slowly — something to read, something to reflect on, something to do, something to carry forward, and something that reminds you that connection matters.
Because I don't think we need another thing telling women how to become better versions of themselves.
I think we need more spaces reminding us that we are already becoming.
As She Becomes is about walking alongside that process — not rushing it, fixing it, or perfecting it.
